New Camera Rumor: Nikon D40

Rumors of a new low-end Nikon DSLR body, along with convincing photos have recently popped up on the internet after a German Camera store posted some photos and specs. The “D40″ seems to fall into the niche just below the D50 and should be Nikon’s low price leader if it is indeed real. It’s also substantially smaller than the rest of Nikon’s DSLR offerings, as illustrated in this photo. Here are some “leaked” specs:
